Bohac comes to the IBBA from Texas A&M University where she recently received her master\u2019s degree in animal breeding. Bohac also received her bachelor\u2019s degree in animal science from Texas A&M in 2013. Her thesis focused on maternal reproductive traits in first and second generation Brahman-Angus crosses, which will be an asset to the IBBA.<\/p>\n
“Through school I got involved in calf and pregnant mare research projects, with these experiences it showed me my love for the agriculture industry and research,” Bohac said. “I love the cattle industry and all it encompasses and am eager to work for the IBBA.”<\/p>\n
Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Bohac was one generation removed from agriculture. Her father grew up on a farm raising livestock but location prevented Jenny from raising livestock of her own. With agricultural roots Jenny has always had a passion for agriculture and the industry and knew she wanted to study livestock in school.<\/p>\n
“Jenny is a very talented young lady that excelled in her recent graduate research program at Texas A&M in animal breeding,” said IBBA Executive Vice President Dr. Tommy Perkins. “She will be a valuable addition to the staff because of her genetics and database knowledge. Jenny will be essential in improving the IBBA sire summary as she mines the current database for analysis of contemporary grouping, new EPDs and potential selection indexes.”<\/p>\n
Bohac\u2019s professional agricultural experience is diverse. She has been involved in the Saddle and Sirloin Club at Texas A&M University and was a member of the Academic Quadrathalon. She has been a teaching assistant for many animal science courses including animal breeding and introduction to animal science. This past year Bohac was a Grad Camp Counselor and has severed as a member of Aggie Reps<\/p>\n
