IBBA Seeking Executive Vice President

The Company

The International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA) is a 75-year-old association headquartered in San Antonio, TX. Approximately 1,400 senior members and 600 junior members rely on IBBA to provide registry services, performance data management, genetic evaluation, breed promotion, marketing, show management as well as communication services through its subsidiary, Brangus Publications, Inc.

The Position

The Executive Vice President (EVP) is responsible for the oversight of all business operations, including supervision and leadership of a 9-member professional staff. The EVP reports to a member-elected Board of Directors and is responsible for collaborating with the leaders, members and staff of nine standing committees which advise the Board of Directors on policy while pursuing their committee priorities consistent with the association’s long-term plan.

This is a full-time executive position. The EVP is expected to reside in or near San Antonio and work in the association’s office full time when not traveling on association business.

 

General Qualifications

Competitive candidates are expected to satisfy the following basic qualifications.

•Extensive administrative and management experience with proven track record of success in leading others to achieve goals and exceed organizational expectations.

•Significant experience in the beef cattle industry, with notable career achievements across a variety of cattle industry segments. Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with both IBBA members and key cattle industry stakeholders to provide leadership in advancing and growing the breed.

•Thorough understanding of genetics with a record of experience in technical cattle breeding and an understanding of statistical analysis of performance data.

•Highly versatile communication skills – interpersonal, written, and public speaking.

•A thorough understanding of financial statements and P&Ls with experience developing and managing budgets and proven ability to lead a fiscally sound organization.

•Creative thinker with skills to develop and create new ideas, systems, and relationships for the success of the organization.

•Bachelor’s degree in agriculture with ideal candidate having Graduate, MBA, or PhD degrees or equivalent experience.
